State Divorce Resources

Grounds for Divorce: The court shall grant a no-fault decree of divorce or separate maintenance  upon a finding of incompatibility. The court shall grant a fault decree of divorce upon a finding of the failure to perform a material marital duty or obligation or incompatibility by reason of mental illness or mental incapacity of one or both spouses. [Kansas Statutes]

Residency Requirements: "The petitioner or respondent in an action for divorce must have been an actual resident of the state for 60 days immediately preceding the filing of the petition. Any person who has been a resident of or stationed at a United States post or military reservation within the state for 60 days immediately preceding the filing of the petition may file an action for divorce in any county adjacent to the post or reservation." [Kansas Statutes]
